"Like many Hilton Head Island residents, Carole & I started visiting the island in the mid 1980’s with two time share villas. When we bought our Palmetto Hall lot in late 1991, we felt that it would be where we built our “forever home”. That home was designed and built in 1998, and we moved here just before our 25th Anniversary. In early 2023, we started thinking about downsizing, eliminating some of the headaches and expenses of home ownership and getting access to the equity we had in the house to travel more (while we were able).

In March, we contacted Lisa and asked her to meet with us to discuss how we should proceed to downsize and sell the house. She provided some guidelines about: what maintenance should be done prior to listing; options for eliminating “excess” items and clutter; removing many of the items we used to decorate the house to make it “ours”; and general support for our anxiety about the whole process. Carole and I are both “pack rats”, and, with a 3,200 sq. ft. house (with plenty of storage), over 25 years we had packed away a lot!

The process was not a walk in the park, but help from Lisa and her team often supplied a little silver lining to all the storm clouds we had to navigate through: delayed roof replacement; moving many items into storage; uncountable trips to the thrift store with donations; making the hard decisions associated with getting rid of “treasured” items; availability of a suitable rental; etc.

The closer we got to listing, the more help the team provided. All of the documentation was easily handled online. Email questions were quickly answered. When we finally reserved an apartment at a future date, we explained our requirements to Lisa. She guided us through what to expect as expenses related to the sale, and how she arrived at a recommended listing price. We put the house on MLS in late June and had a full price offer in a very short time. Lisa’s ability to negotiate terms of the contract that met all of our requirements resulted in “an offer we couldn’t refuse”.

As much as we loved our house of 25 years, the new owner’s family appears to love it as much as we did. We could not be more pleased with the efficient work of Lisa and the team to provide us with a smooth transition to our new situation."
